But the Mount Lavinia Hotel takes on a special lustre in December, with traditional holiday decorations that is highlighted with violet and silver - and a program of uniqueness like celebrations on St Lucia’s Day and Boxing Day Gospel and Jazz Brunch, festive refreshments, and entertaining activities designed to take away the stress of the holidays and leave you with only the Spirit of the Holidays.

Mr Anura Dewapura states, “our theme this year is highlighting the worldly delights celebrated at Christmas, fit for a king. The Governor’s Restaurant will feature from 7^th to 23rd food synonymous to countries particularly consumed at Christmas so you could taste the same.”

A relaxing way to unwind in the afternoon is by the Terrace with a Gospel Jazz Brunch on Boxing Day(26^th Dec) with Eshantha and his Jazz Ensemble along with Nuovo Vita bringing out the best in Gospel. Gluh wine and Saffron Buns will be served at the Courtyard on St Lucia’s Day(13^th Dec), a event that sends the message of light and hope.

Have the children be our guest this season and enjoy afternoons of fun 9^th is painting with the Spirit of Christmas, 16^th Dec – Mrs Claus’ kitchen, 23^rd Dec – Caroling with Santa and Seven Dwarfs and 30^th  - Party at Candyland. Chef Asanka has designed a special Kid's menu to ensure everyone, including the youngest of guests, enjoy their holidays.

The new year eve celebrations on the Terrace with glitz and glamour will be the Simple be the Best New Year’s Eve with bands Doctor and C&C along with DJ Suneth and oh yes Faizal Bongso will be the compere who ring in the new year in full swing.
