The Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) will hold its 77th Annual Mount Lavinia Sea Swim in association with the Mount Lavinia Hotel in a grand scale on the 1st and 2nd of March 2014.

“The event has taken place on the shores of Mount Lavinia for the past 76 years, hence it is very appropriate to take this sporting event to the next level we launched a mascot last year” states Mahika Chandrasena, Group Manager, Corporate Communications at MLH. “Wallace brings in a fun aspect to the sport as the hospitality industry’s focus is to encourage everyone to have a 'whale of a time', and so a mascot that epitomizes us, the destination and the fighting spirit of true sportsmanship all combined is the essence of Wallace the Whale.”
The sea swim will draw over 700 swimmers between the ages of 12 years and 70 years.
The event will be held in a grand scale this year with big names in the world of sporting garments MAS and media sponsors being MTV Sports  will be supporting the event this year.
