Want to feel and
experience iconic traditions that surface the true spirit of the season without
visiting the specific countries? MLH’s Royal Christmas and the gamut of dining
experiences will easily take you across the globe and through the ages with
unique traditions being highlighted.
Exceptional amidst
traditional entertainment is the idea behind the seasonal entertainment at the
Mount Lavinia Hotel. The Royal Christmas at
MLH this year continues to tell the story of the many cultures and traditions
that have shaped the spirit of Christmas throughout the years and the unique
initiatives added to the season that strengthen bonds and links epitomize MLH’s
hospitality throughout the nation.
One of the defining
characteristics of this year’s seasonal line-up is St Lucia’s Day celebration on
Thursday, 13th December 2012 which surfaces the message of light and
hope. A popular festival mostly celebrated in Northern Europe or a Scandinavian
tradition proclaiming the message of light and hope. This festival will be
celebrated in style with traditional music and Scandinavian delicacies and
beverages at the Courtyard of the MLH. Ranked with some of the most renowned
choirs in the world, VOICE PRINT who have enthralled many an audience both in Sri Lanka and abroad will team up
with Coro CantAmici, a choral musical ensemble to ring in the Christmas spirit.
It's easier than ever to get
lost in the materialism of Christmas and lose touch with the true meaning of
Christmas. Well MLH regained some of that lost Christmas spirit this year when the
mystery, magic and mirth of Christmas is indeed captured on the
24th and 25th of December at the Governor’s Restaurant,
the Terrace and the Seafood Cove. And remember the surprise visit from Santa in
the most unusual manner maybe a sight to see!
Two traditions merged
into one dining initiative is the idea behind Gospel and Jazz Brunch on Boxing
Day(26th December 2012). Eshantha Peries and his Asia Pacific Jazz ensemble
will jazz the day whilst Nuovo Vita will show off Gospel that took shape in the
early twentieth century from the old spirituals that gave hope and strength to
many.
All this and more
will be offered by the hotel this festive season, so if you are looking at
celebrating a culmination of Christmas festivities with a difference, a theme
in order to build a greater understanding on the spirit of Christmas or
appreciate a tradition that influences on the present, Mount Lavinia Hotel
should be your number one choice this season.
