Celebrating 50 years of married life

The golden anniversary is one of the most celebrated wedding anniversaries known across the world. And rightly so! Spending half a century in love with one person is a wonderful statement about the gift of married life. And many would consider it the hallmark of many marriages and indeed the children of Chitra and Samarasiri Rajapaksa believed so. Since they tied the knot in majestic Mount Lavinia Hotel in 1963, they decided to have a small gathering to recognize their parents at the hotel.
“We loved the hotel so much that we had a replica of the hotel as our cake structure in 1963,” states Mr Rajapaksa. “It was a beautiful day and indeed tonight brings us back to the days of yon,” avers Mrs Rajapaksa. It is important to do something to recognize this milestone. The 50th anniversary is a golden opportunity that cannot go unnoticed, states an official from MLH.
